Westminster-based Maxar readies to outsource some satellite manufacturing jobsMaxar Technologies (NYSE: MAXR) will start transferring dozens of jobs in one of its satellite factories to an outsourcing firm, shifting the employees and assembly of some components to another company. The Westminster-based space technology and manufacturing company is sending 123 jobs involved in the assembly of some satellite radio frequency and electronics hardware in Palo Alto, California, to a dedicated space nearby in San Jose in a facility owned by contract manufacturer Sanmina Corp., which will become the workers’ employer. The jobs being moved are mostly assembly technicians with some engineering, software and procurement jobs also being transferred over to Sanmina Corp. (Nasdaq: SANM), according to documents filed with the California state economic development office. |
